4 new leptospirosis cases confirmed

MANILA, Philippines - The Research Institute for Tropical Medicine has confirmed four new cases of leptospirosis in Oriental Mindoro.

The Department of Health (DOH)-Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan) said the cases were from Barangays Sta. Rosa I and Poblacion in Baco town and Calsapa in San Teodoro. 

The DOH-Mimaropa epidemiological surveillance unit reported 58 suspected cases of leptospirosis in Oriental Mindoro from Dec. 27 to Jan. 12.
