Cesar Ramirez - The Philippine Star

CALASIAO, Philippines – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) opened a satellite office at a mall in Pangasinan on Sunday.

The DFA office at the Robinson’s Place mall here is the 21st regional consular office in the country, said DFA Undersecretary Rafael Seguis.

It is also the 10th satellite office to be hosted by Robinsons Land Corp (RLC).

Irving Wu, operations director for Luzon of RLC, said the company signed an agreement with the DFA in October 2011 for the hosting of 14 regional consular offices.

Former President Fidel Ramos, former ambassador and senator Leticia Ramos-Shahani, Rep. Rose Marie Arenas, Pangasinan Vice Gov. Jose Ferdinand Calimlim and Calasiao Mayor Mark Ro Macanlalay attended the opening of the consular office.

A hall named after the late ambassador Narciso Ramos in the DFA office was also inaugurated.
