MANILA, Philippines - Three houses were razed in a fire that struck Sitio All-Top in Barangay Merville in Parañaque City Saturday afternoon.
According to Fire Inspector Wilson Tana, senior arson investigator of the Parañaque City Fire Department, the fire started at 2:01 p.m. at the two-storey house owned by a certain Tito Vargas.
The fire then quickly spread to two adjacent houses and quickly reached the third alarm. The houses, said the Parañaque Fire Department, are made of light materials.
Tana said responding firefighters placed the blaze under control at about 2:48 p.m. The fire was put out at 2:53 p.m.
According to Tana, contrary to breaking online news, no one died or was injured in the fire. Arson investigators placed the damage caused by the fire at about P200,000.
Arson investigators of the Parañaque Fire Department are still determining what cause the fire.
Initial information however points to faulty electrical connection as the culprit.
