3 dead in Isabela mishaps

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – Three persons died in separate vehicular accidents in Cauayan City and Gamu town, both in Isabela on Friday.

Jake Uligan, 17, died at the scene after he was hit by a Florida Bus (WOC-987) driven by Nelson Hermitanio, 51, in Barangay Alinam, Cauayan City.

Police arrested Hermitanio and impounded the bus.

Meanwhile, cable television employee Alvin Lopez, 18, died when his motorcycle fell into a ravine in Barangay Marabulig 1, also in Cauayan.

Lopez’s companion, Aljon Ramos, 22, was  rushed to the hospital for treatment of injuries.

In Gamu town, Danny Sacasac, 22, died when his motorcycle collided with a vehicle driven by Rev. Silahis Rullepa, 48, of the Philippine Independent Church in Barangay Upi.

Police said Sacasac tried to overtake another vehicle, causing him to slam into the priest’s car in front of the gate of the Army’s 5th Infantry Division headquarters.

Rullepa was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries.
