MANILA, Philippines – Two foreigners, who went base jumping or parachuting off a building in Cebu, have been arrested for trespassing.
David Laffargue and Nathan Pertusat were collared at the Calyx Building at the Cebu IT Park, the Cebu City police office confirmed on Thursday.
Police did not give any other details.
A report on the ABS-CBN news website said the video of Laffargue and Pertusat jumping off the building was featured on the website of Skydive Mag on Jan. 6. The video also showed the two foreigners in a detention cell.
Laffargue’s profile on YouTube said he is based in Paris, France.
“Urban base jumping is like that: sometimes you’re a ninja, sometimes you run fast... and sometimes you end up in a s***y cell!” the ABS-CBN report quoted Laffargue’s description of the video.
“We got busted on a building in the Philippines and got charged with trespassing, which is a criminal offense there. They took that ...super seriously, and despite what you can see in the video, I was really scared,” Laffargue said in the video.
“Anyway, thanks to Elaina, the legendary girlfriend of Nathan, we got out of there pretty quick without troubles, and we managed to get some fun videos of our ‘home!’” he added. – Cecille Suerte Felipe, Queenie Bronce/Freeman News Service
