MANILA, Philippines – Two moderate earthquakes rocked parts of Surigao del Norte yesterday but caused no damage or injury, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs said the tremors of magnitudes 4.2 and 5.2 hit at 4:31 a.m. and 4:36 a.m., respectively.
The epicenter of the first quake was located at 36 kilometers northeast of Burgos, Surigao del Norte. The quake was felt at Intensity 2 in Surigao City.
The second tremor was at 35 km northeast of Burgos. It was felt at Intensity 3 in Burgos, Intensity 2 in Surigao City and Intensity 1 in Mainit, Surigao del Norte.
