Flood alert up in Aurora

Manny Galvez - The Philippine Star

BALER, AURORA , Philippines – Disaster management officials have raised a flood alert in three municipalities in this province in the wake of heavy downpours that inundated Casiguran town.

In an advisory released yesterday, the provincial disaster risk reduction and management council said the northeast monsoon affecting Northern Luzon would trigger 24 hours of rainfall and most likely cause rivers in Casiguran, Lower Umiray in Dingalan and Aguang in this town to overflow.

Since Thursday, roads in Casiguran have been submerged in floodwaters due to continuous heavy downpour.

The floods affected 10 houses in low-lying areas in Barangay Calantas.
