2 dead in Quezon, Isabela road mishaps

SARIAYA, Quezon, Philippines – Two persons died and three others were injured in separate road accidents in Quezon and Isabela on Wednesday night and before dawn yesterday.

Mark Mendoza, 24, was driving his motorcycle with Jaypee Camacho when a Silver Star bus (UYC-979) hit them along Maharlika Highway in Barangay Sampaloc 2 here around 11 p.m. on Wednesday. 

Mendoza died at the scene due to head injuries.

Camacho remained confined at the Quezon Medical Center in Lucena City yesterday.

The bus driver fled after the accident.

In Cauayan, Isabela, a woman died and her husband and daughter suffered serious injuries when their car collided with a Starex van along the national highway in Barangay Nungnungan before dawn yesterday.

The driver of the van was reportedly high on drugs.
