Zamboanga peninsula gets 42 police vehicles

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – Forty-two patrol jeeps were turned over to two provinces in the Zamboanga peninsula yesterday.

Interior Secretary Mel Senen Sarmiento led the turnover of the vehicles to the mayors and police chiefs of Zamboanga Sibugay and Zamboanga del Sur during ceremonies held at the headquarters of the Police Regional Office 9 at Camp Abendan in Barangay Mercedes.

Zamboanga Sibugay got 16 patrol jeeps while Zamboanga del Sur received 26. 

Director Juanito Vaño Jr., Philippine National Police director for logistics, said the PNP has so far distributed 747 patrol jeeps to 39 provinces.

Vaño said 707 police vehicles would be distributed to various local government units next month.
