Boy, 12, hangs self

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – A 12-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide after his parents did not allow him to join their school field trip.

Inspector Hazel Luma-ang, spokesman for the Batangas police, said the body of the boy, whose name was withheld, was found hanging with a nylon cord looped around his neck in Barangay Galamay-amo by his neighbor in San Jose, Batangas around 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Luma-ang said the boy’s parents were not around when the boy’s body was found.
