Cop who stole motorbike shot dead

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines – A policeman who reportedly stole a motorcycle was killed in an alleged shootout with security guards of a mall in Angeles City on Thursday. 

Police Officer 1 Jomar Batul, 28, a member of the Provincial Public Safety Company of Oriental Mindoro, took the motorcycle, which was parked in front of a fast food restaurant and fled toward the parking lot of the mall, a report to Senior Superintendent Sidney Villaflor, Angeles City police director, showed. 

Police said five shoppers were injured when Batul engaged the security guards in a gunfight.

Batul died while being treated at the Ospital ng Angeles.
