2 dead, 9 hurt in Pangasinan, Cagayan road mishaps

MANAOAG, Pangasinan, Philippines – Two men were killed and nine others were injured in separate accidents in Pangasinan and Cagayan recently.

Carlyndon Galiiguez died when their tricycle rammed into an electric post along Barangay Babasit here on Sunday. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Manaoag Community Hospital, where his companions, Gerlad Gomez, Jomar Almonte, Dennis Gomez and Michael Lalaca, were also brought for treatment.     

In Cagayan, a man died and six others were hurt in accidents involving motorcycles on Wednesday.

Wilson Mariano, 51, was killed when he was thrown several meters away when his motorcycle collided with another motorcycle along the national highway in Bugao in Tuao town, said Police Officer 2 Mannie Calubaquib.

Motorcycle driver Noel Cagumbay, 30, and his companion, Ramon Dasayan, 24, remained confined in a hospital yesterday.

Norbert Contillo, 25; Pablo Unday, 25; and Joseph Fania, 20, were injured when a tricycle on the opposite lane in Barangay Tupang in Alcala town hit their motorcycle. They were brought to the Cagayan Valley Medical Center for treatment.

Tricycle driver Reynate Tabaog, 25, was also injured.
