DAVAO CITY, Philippines – At least P22 million worth of farm supply and equipment have been turned over by the Department of Agrarian Reform to 29 farmers’ organizations in Davao region.
DAR regional director John Maruhom said the beneficiaries were from this city and the provinces of Compostela Valley, Davao Oriental, Davao del Norte and Davao del Sur.
The equipments, which were procured under the agrarian reform communities connectivity and economic support services project, includes 22 units of light-duty shredders, two cultivators or power tillers and eight tractors.
Government inspectors conducted a test-run of the machines to ensure that these conform with the specification and in good working condition.
The suppliers were required to train the beneficiaries on how to operate and maintain the machines.
