ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines - A marine sergeant, a paramilitary member and two others were arrested during a raid in a shabu-infested village here past midnight Friday, according to police official.
Police Superintendent Ariel Huesca, commander of the Zamboanga City Public Safety Company, identified the arrested suspects as Sgt. Alnadzry Ibnohasim Dacumos, assigned with the Combat Service Support Brigade of the Philippine Marines; Han Julkanain Albani, team leader of the Special CAFGU Active Auxiliary; Halid Jakaria Mohammad and Muhmir Handani Mangkabung; all residents of Barangay Recodo.
Huesca said his forces and members of the Special Weapons and Tactics conducted prophylactic patrol on the shabu-infested village and made separate arrests past midnight.
Recovered from Dacumos include two plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, disposable lighters and identification cards. Mungkabung yielded a sachet of suspected shabu and other drug paraphernalia.
The police seized from Albani and Mohammad small and medium-sized sachets of suspected shabu, stainless surgical scissor, disposable lighter, cash worth P255 and other drug paraphernalia.
Huesca said several other suspects managed to scamper and escape after being disrupted in their pot sessions.
