Alaminos bags tourism award

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan, Philippines – The city of Alaminos bagged anew the first place in the 2nd Tourism Awards held at the Sison Auditorium here yesterday.

Alaminos City received a trophy and P200,000 cash prize as the best performing tourism-oriented local government unit.

Yesterday’s citation was the second for the city, after it also topped the first launch of the contest last year.

Following Alaminos were the municipalities of Dasol, which received P150,000 cash and a trophy, and Balungao with P100,000 and a trophy.

The town of Dasol is known for its beaches while Balungao for its hot springs and ziplines.

The awards were handed by Gov. Amado Espino Jr., Vice Gov. Jose Ferdinand Calimlim Jr., Department of Tourism regional director Martin Valera and provincial tourism officer Maria Luisa Elduayan.
