Quakes rock Visayas

MANILA, Philippines - Two mild earthquakes rocked parts of Central Visayas yesterday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

State seismologists said the quakes, which both registered at magnitude 3.5, occurred at 4:37 a.m. and 10:20 a.m., respectively.

The epicenter of the first tremor was located 16 kilometers (km) southeast of Argao, Cebu.

It was felt at Intensity 3 in Maribojoc in Bohol, and Intensity 2 in Argao and Tagbilaran City, also Bohol.

The second quake was located 26 km northwest of Tagbilaran City.

It was felt at Intensity 3 in Tagbilaran; Loon and Maribojoc, both in Bohol, and Argao. Intensity 2 was reported in Dalaguete, Cebu.

No damage or aftershock was expected from the tremors.
