LIST: Road reblocking, repair in Metro Manila this weekend

MANILA, Philippines — The Metro Manila Development Authority on Thursday advised the public of ongoing road reblocking and repairs to be undertaken this weekend from Friday until Monday.

The MMDA reminded the public to take alternative routes as there may be traffic congestion in major portions of Quezon City due to road works.

MMDA Chairman Emerson Carlos warned motorists to avoid areas the road repairs that will be conducted from December 5 at 10 p.m. until December 7 at 5 a.m. in the following areas:

Southbound

• Along EDSA, between Aurora Boulevard and P. Tuazon street (service road, first lane from sidewalk).

Northbound

• Along EDSA between New York Street and K-10 street, second lane from sidewalk

Carlos said the Department of Public Works and Highway recommended the reblocking and repair of the said areas for maintenance purposes.

Other areas with ongoing road reblocking, repair, improvements, equipment installation in Metro Manila are listed below:

• Improvement  or concrete widening of Sgt. Esguerra Street Barangay South trangle left side from Timog Avenue to Pasay Avenue, Quezon City from Nov. 6, 2015 to May 3, 2016 initiated by the DPHW-Quezon City.
• Construction of small scale pilot trial on the use of epoxy asphalt along C.M. Recto Avenue, Quiapo, Manila November 6 to Dec 11, 2015 by DPWH-North Manila Engineering District 
• Construction of drainage main along A.P. Reye Avenue from AP Reyes Avenue towards Pasig River Southbound Baragay Carmona, District 1, Makati City from Nov. 6 2015 to March 4, 2016 by DPWH- Metro Manila II District Engineering Office
• Repair Strengthening of Marcos Bridge along Marcos Highway, Marikina City from Nov. 6, 2015 to July 2, 2016 by DPWH-NCR
• Road Repair Clearance for the improvement or widening of Quezon Avenue East Bound, (Phase IV) K009 + 326 – K009 +434 Quezon City from Nov. 6, 2015 to May 3, 2016 by DPWH - Quezon City 2nd District Engineering
• Installation of sewer service connection and restoration works (Concrete Reblocking) along E. Quintos Street, between Simoun Street and Calamba Street Sampaloc, Manila from Nov. 6, 2015 to Feb. 4 2016 by Maynilad Water Service Inc.
• Installation of thee poles and all the accessories connected thereto along EDSA South Bound between Amor Solo Street and Chino Roces Avenue, Bangkal, Makati City from Nov. 6 to Dec. 6, 2015 by Manila Electric Company
