Phillip Salvador running for Bulacan vice governor?
MALOLOS, Philippines – Actor Phillip Salvador is said to be filing his certificate of candidacy as substitute vice gubernatorial candidate in Bulacan.
Salvador had transferred his registration from Mandaluyong City to Marilao town, Elmo Duque, Bulacan election supervisor, said on Tuesday.
Duque said Salvador’s registration was approved amid a petition filed on Oct. 9 questioning the actor’s right to vote in Marilao.
Marilao residents Domingo Lukban, Teodoro Toring, Rogelio Gervas, Perlita Panes, Benigno Villaruel and Cesar Cuenca filed the petition.
Salvador and his wife have been residing at Estrella Homes Subdivision in Barangay Sta. Rosa since August last year.
Salvador will reportedly substitute for Eduardo Gregorio to be the running mate of former Bulacan governor Josie de la Cruz, who is said to be substituting for her brother, Pedro Mendoza.
Substitution for a candidate is allowed until Dec. 10.
