Ed Amoroso - The Philippine Star

LAGUNA, Philippines – A man and a woman were found beheaded in separate areas in Calamba City in this province on Sunday and yesterday.

Authorities described the man to be between 40 and 50 years old and wearing a sleeveless shirt, a pair of denim pants and black socks.

One of the victim’s fingers was chopped off.

The body was found by street sweeper Anthony Jaca under the Sipit Bridge located along the Calamba-Sto. Tomas Expressway in Barangay Turbina on Sunday afternoon.

Laguna police spokesman Senior Inspector Evangelica Lantican said police believe the victim was killed somewhere else and dumped in the area to mislead investigators.

Meanwhile, the woman was found by a bystander in Barangay Makiling at 8:30 a.m. yesterday.

Police have yet to determine whether the killings were connected.
