2 teens drown in Bulacan

MALOLOS, Philippines –Two teenagers drowned while swimming with their friends in Bakas River in Barangay Matictic in Norzagaray, Bulacan on Tuesday.

Senior Superintendent Ferdinand Divina, Bulacan police director, identified the victims as Lovely Lacaba and Nelson Godin, both 18 years old.

Superintendent Joel Estaris, Norzagaray police chief, said three of the victims’ companions – Daryll Aglosolos, 15; Lucrisiano Palen, 18, and Luigi Manaay, 17, all residents of Barangay Citrus in San Jose del Monte City – were rescued by authorities.

Two others remained missing as of yesterday.

Initial investigation showed the victims were swept away by the strong current.
