TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – Two persons died while three others were injured in a collision involving a tricycle and a bus in San Mateo, Isabela at dawn yesterday.
Bel Baltazar and Robert Dizon were traveling along the highway in Barangay Sinamar Norte when their tricycle slammed into a Dangwa bus driven by Ryan Antero.
Investigators believe Baltazar could have fallen asleep, noting the victims came from an overnight bible study.
The names of the injured victims were not immediately available.
Antero surrendered to responding police officers.
Meanwhile, in Bataan, a driver died while 11 others were injured in separate vehicular accidents in Samal town and Balanga City on Monday.
The unidentified driver of the van died at the scene when his vehicle slammed into a truck along the Roman Expressway in Samal.
Van passengers Oliver Ubay and Alfredo Ubando were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
In the same day nine persons including three members of the Philippine Coast Guard were injured when a bus hit a van in Barangay Cabog-Cabog, Balanga City.
The victims were taken to the Bataan General Hospital for treatment.
