3 dead in Isabela motorcycle mishaps

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines  – Three persons died while another was injured in two motorcycle accidents in the municipalities of Quezon and Alicia in Isabela on Wednesday.

Warlito Macaranas, 47, and his passenger Joseph Paringit, 29, died at the scene after their motorcycle rear-ended a truck (WKN 847) in Barangay  Barucboc, Quezon, according to Isabela police spokesman Superintendent Julio Go.

Investigators said the victims were said to be under the influence of liquor.

Truck driver Joel Baldonado, 47, surrendered to the responding police officers.

Meanwhile, Josepher Devilar, 27, was driving along the highway in Barangay Victoria when he was hit by a van.

Devilar’s motorcycle fell and sideswiped farmer Jeremy Malupeng, 23, who was taken to a hospital for treatment.
