NPA seizes 11 Davao villagers
DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Suspected New People’s Army (NPA) guerrillas reportedly seized 11 city residents who were hauling materials for a government water project in Lipadas River on Tuesday.
Reports from the Armed Forces Eastern Mindanao Command said more than 60 guerrillas kidnapped Martin Cacanta, Felipe Daug, Dondon Cacanta, Paolo Daug, Kim Daug, O-ay Lopez, Marlon Marina, Salwin Ondoy, Nilo Gebaya and a certain Dodoy and Tisoy, all of Barangay Daliano in Toril district.
The victims were reportedly brought to a nearby hut, where they were held for a night before they were released the next day.
The rebels were reportedly led by Danilo Rosete, Almira Rosete and a certain alias Aldrin of the NPA’s Guerrilla Front 54.
