4 hurt in Isabela road mishap

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – Four persons were injured when their tricycle was hit by a bus in Mallig, Isabela at dawn yesterday.

Tricycle driver Kyra Roldan and her passengers Antonio Soriano, 18; Crystal Estrella, 18, and Joan Colas, 20, were taken to a hospital for treatment.

Reports said the tricycle was traveling along the highway in Barangay San Pedro when it was rear-ended by a GV Florida bus driven by Felino Justo Jr., 45.

Isabela police spokesman Superintendent Julio Go said Justo tried to overtake another vehicle.

Responding police officers arrested Justo.

Meanwhile, in Benguet, seven persons were injured when their jeepney rolled over in Bokod town.

Investigators said jeepney driver Jerry Ebes Equinio, 35, lost control of the wheel as he was driving down the road in Barangay Ambuklao.

?The victims were taken to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center for treatment.
