Cop suspended for playing online game while on duty

Ed Amoroso - The Philippine Star

LAGUNA, Philippines – A police officer was relieved from his post after a video posted on Facebook showed him playing an online game on his mobile phone while on duty in a barangay hall here.

Police Officer 1 Mark Ferdinand dela Cruz Casibang, a member of Mobile 155, was placed under the custody of his superior while an investigation is ongoing, Sta. Rosa police chief Superintendent Reynaldo Maclang said yesterday.

Maclang said Senior Police Officer 4 Rosalie Aglanang and Police Officer 2 Loreto Ariado Jr., who were with Casibang at the time of the incident, were also ordered to submit their explanation.

The video showed Casibang playing “Clash of Clans” when a woman who had been beaten up went to the barangay hall to seek his assistance.

Casibang denied the allegation, saying he went to the barangay hall only to charge his mobile phone.
