Palace exec’s kin nabbed in drug sting

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – A nephew of Presidential Legislative Liaison Officer Manuel Mamba was arrested by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in a sting in Barangay Balugao in Tuao, Cagayan on Thursday.

Rene Mamba Chevante, 28, is on the province’s list of top drug suspects, said ?PDEA regional director Derrick Carreon.

Chevante allegedly sold two grams of suspected shabu worth P6,000 to PDEA undercover agents.

The elder Mamba told The STAR he had long reported his nephew’s activities to authorities, saying he would not tolerate any illegal activity.
