Aurora mayor’s in-law faces drug raps

BALER, Aurora, Philippines – A sister-in-law of Baler Mayor Nelianto Bihasa has been charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

Leila Bihasa was arrested in a drug sting on Saturday for possession of 1.9 grams of shabu, said Senior Superintendent Danilo Florentino, provincial police director.

Bihasa is on the list of most wanted drug personalities in Baler, said Chief Inspector Jun dela Cruz, police station commander.

Dela Cruz said the drug haul is one of the biggest by local police.

“Normally in Baler, we only confiscate small fractions of shabu and we never get to seize grams. This is the first time in a long while that we were able to confiscate that much,” he said.
