ALAMINOS CITY, Pangasinan, Philippines – Authorities arrested a village chief following a raid on his residence that resulted in the seizure of firearms, ammunition and suspected shabu in this city on Friday.
Leandro Laya, 50, was collared after agents of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and members of the city police raided his house in Barangay Cayucay.
The raiding team reportedly seized a .45 caliber pistol, a shotgun, bullets and two plastic sachets said to contain shabu from the suspect, according to Superintendent Ferdinand de Asis, spokesman for the provincial police.
