Road reblocking on EDSA-Malibay to cause heavy traffic
MANILA, Philippines - Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) announced that it will implement road reblocking and restoration on EDSA corner C. Jose St. in Malibay, Pasay City starting on Wednesday.
This follows the repair of a leaking 150-millimeter diameter pipeline, Maynilad said in an advisory released on Tuesday. Motorists are advised to expect heavy traffic.
Three of the five northbound lanes along the road will be closed to traffic from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. from Wednesday to Thursday. The diggings will be temporarily covered by steel plates during daytime to be made passable to vehicular traffic.
Starting Friday midnight, two of the three lanes will be closed to traffic for 24 hours for road restoration. These two lanes will be opened to traffic by Saturday midnight while the remaining lane will be closed for road restoration in the next 24 hours.
All five lanes will be open again to traffic by Monday as Maynilad completes its road restoration activities.
Maynilad will be cooperating with the Department of Public Works and Highways, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority and Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group in managing traffic flow in the project area.
"Motorists and pedestrians passing through the area are also reminded to strictly observe traffic rules and road safety regulations," Maynilad said.
Work sites will be fully enclosed by board-up barricades to help ensure public safety, Maynilad added. - Patricia Lourdes Viray
