LAGUNA, Philippines – A one-year-old boy, who was reported kidnapped on Sunday night, was found dead yesterday morning in Nagcarlan town in this province.

The body of Lance Erlandez Macahiya was found by a neighbor, Roberta Cabelo, in a ravine in Barangay Malaya at around 7 a.m., according to Chief Inspector Leopoldo Ferrer, town police chief.

The victim’s parents, Leo and Wallen, told investigators  that their son was sleeping beside his elder brother at their home when he was kidnapped.

The couple reportedly left their sons by themselves at around 8 p.m. to attend a birthday party at a nearby relative’s house.

Witnesses told police they saw a man walking away from the Macahiyas’ home, with a baby in his arms.
