BAGUIO CITY, Philippines – At least 157 land titles were distributed to families who have been occupying a portion of a government property in Scout Barrio here.
The certificates were distributed by John Hay Management Corp. (JHMC), a subsidiary of the state-run Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), to the beneficiaries.
JHMC president and chief executive officer Jamie Eloise Agbayani said there were six beneficiaries who did not receive their land titles for failing to submit complete documents.
Agbayani said the titles would be given to them once they complied with all the requirements.
BCDA president and chief executive officer Arnel Paciano Casanova assured the community that the state-run agency is sincere in its efforts to distribute the land to qualified beneficiaries.
Other properties set for distribution are located in Country Club Village, Upper Dagsian, Lower Dagsian, Sta. Escolastica, Hillside, Happy Hollow, Green Water, Loakan Apugan, Loakan Proper, Camp 7, Loakan Liwanang, Lucnab and Outlook Drive.
Casanova urged the local government to intensify its efforts against professional squatting in these villages and protect the legitimate beneficiaries.
