LAGUNA, Philippines – A Ugandan man and his Filipina partner were arrested in a drug sting in Sta. Rosa City on Thursday.
At least 10 kilos of suspected cocaine and two kilos of shabu with an estimated street value of P20 million were seized from Rufus Katumba, 44, and Marlyn Ramos, 31, Yogi Filemon Ruiz, regional director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, said yesterday.
Katumba, a suspected member of an African drug syndicate, and Ramos were collared at their rented apartment on Sunnyvale street around 11:30 p.m.
Ruiz said the cocaine was found hidden in several bottles of lotion, bags and shoes while the shabu was discovered in the cabinets.
He said Katumba was tagged as the recruiter of four Filipinos arrested in Hong Kong last week.
