MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) on Sunday reported a magnitude 3.6 earthquake that rocked Batanes on Sunday morning.
The quake with the epicenter located at 10 kilometers of southeast of Basco, Batanes was recorded at 5:54 a.m.
Phivolcs said the tremor was felt at intensity 4 with shallow depth of five kilometers.
In its advisory, Phivolcs said there were no damage or expected aftershocks.
Prior to the magnitude 3.6 quake, another quake with magnitude 3 was also recorded at 1:57 a.m in Burgos, Surigao del Norte.
Both quakes recorded were tectonic in origin and did not incur any damages.
