LUCENA CITY, Quezon, Philippines – After two years in hiding, one of three suspects in the robbery of P9.4 million Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program fund in Pagbilao town has been arrested here, police said yesterday.
Emilron dela Torre was collared in his hideout in Barangay 7 in this city on Sunday by agents of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) as well as by members of the provincial and city police offices.
Dela Torre and two other men reportedly robbed at gunpoint five employees of the Philippine Postal Corp. out to deliver the money in October 2013.
One of the suspects shot one of the employees in the leg before fleeing with the cash.
Dela Torre did not resist arrest. He was detained at the CIDG-Quezon jail.
