Student dies in road mishap

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – An 18-year-old student died while two of her classmates suffered serious injuries when their motorcycle collided with a speeding Toyota Hi-Lux along the highway in Barangay San Fabian, Echague, Isabela on Tuesday. ?

Sharmaine Abaca died at the scene while Judy Ann Campos, 18, and motorcycle driver Mark Joseph Pillen, 17, remain confined in a hospital, said Echague police chief Chief Inspector Gerald Gamboa.

The sport utility vehicle driven by businessman Mel Eugene Go, 45, a resident of Jones, Isabela, hit the motorcycle, which was on the opposite lane, when it overtook another vehicle. ?

Go surrendered to responding policemen.
