Isabela village watchman shot dead

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – A village watchman was killed and his 24-year-old son was wounded when they tried to pacify two village councilmen grappling for a .38 caliber revolver in Barangay Fuga in Appari, Cagayan on Monday.

Naser Asduri, 48, tried to grab the gun from Noe Pagallaran during a confrontation with Roger Rabina at the former’s backyard, Police Officer 2 Mark Angelo Pamittan said yesterday.

Pagallaran reportedly shot Naser then Najib when he tried to help his father.

Naser died while being treated at the Northern Cagayan District Hospital, where Najib was also brought.

Responding policemen arrested Pagallaran.
