MANILA, Philippines - Farmers in Mindoro Oriental can now continue producing organic fertilizer following the delivery of two shredding machines, the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) said over the weekend.
Members of the Mina de Oro Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Bongabong town will benefit from the project, according to Joselito Nathaniel Diaz, officer in-charge of the provincial agrarian reform office.
Diaz said the shredding machines would enable the cooperative to reduce its dependency on commercial fertilizer.
He said a team of inspectors from the DAR regional office trained the farmers on the use and maintenance of the machines.
