Last missing Benguet miner found

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines  – The last of the 16 miners who went missing in a landslide in Mankayan, Benguet last month was found on Wednesday.

The body of Ronaldo Angel was retrieved under the mud and rocks at around 1 p.m. in Barangay Taneg, according to Senior Superintendent Jonathan Calixto, chief of the Benguet public safety company.

The landslide occurred during the onslaught of Typhoon Ineng.

Earlier, members of a local search and rescue team dug up the remains of 14 other miners while another was found in the Abra River in Quirino town, Ilocos Sur where it was carried by the flashfloods.
