2 die in trainer plane crash

MALOLOS, Philippines – A pilot and his student died when a trainer plane crashed in Plaridel, Bulacan Tuesday afternoon.

Capt. Arthur Rebollido, 40, a resident of Quezon City, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Bulacan Medical Center here while student pilot James Phillip Oquialda, 24, a resident of Parañaque City died while being treated at the Our Lady of Mercy Hospital in Pulilan, said Senior Superintendent Ferdinand Divina, Bulacan police director.

Investigation showed the victims were on a Cessna plane when it crashed at the end of the runway of the Plaridel airstrip around 4 p.m.

Fliteline Aviation owns the two-seater plane with body number RP-C8691. 

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines suspended the operations of Fliteline Flying School while an investigation is ongoing. – Ramon Efren Lazaro, Louise Maureen Simeon
