The Philippine Star

MALOLOS, Philippines – Malacañang has declared Sept. 15 a special non-working holiday in the province of Bulacan in observance of the 117th anniversary of the Malolos Congress.

Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr. signed Proclamation No. 1124 to give Bulakenyos an opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion.

The event will cap the one-week celebration of the Singkaban Festival, said to be the mother of all festivals in the province.

Rep. Gavini Pancho of Bulacan’s second district will be the guest of honor in the event, which will be held inside the compound of the Barasoain Church in this city.
