BACOLOD CITY, Philippines – A pedicab driver died and two others were injured when a fire razed an apartment in Barangay 16 here on Thursday.
The city’s Bureau of Fire Protection identified the fatality as Michael Birial, 38, who suffered second-degree burns. Australian Niebel Dixon, 60, and his partner, Jenny Rose Tabuga, 27, were brought to the Bacolod Adventist Medical Center for treatment.
Senior Inspector Publio Plotena, acting city fire marshal, said the fire broke out at past 2 a.m.
