MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Navy and Air Force yesterday kicked off a joint exercise that seeks to strengthen their interoperability in territorial defense operations.
The “Dagit 2015” drills will be held at the Naval Base Heracleo Alano at Sangley Point and at the Marine Barracks Gregorio Lim in Ternate, both in Cavite as well as in Manila Bay and on Caballo Island.
The exercise will run until Sept. 18 and will include training in expertise exchange, classroom instruction, tabletop and joint training exercises.
“Dagit 2015 aims to enhance the capability of the Navy and Air Force personnel in safeguarding our territories, economic zones and claims of interests,” Navy public affairs chief Cmdr. Lued Lincuna said.
About 200 Air Force personnel and 150 Navy troopers will participate in the activity.
