Blast rocks Basilan police station

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – An improvised explosive device went off outside the gate of the police station in Lamitan City, Basilan on Sunday, police reported yesterday.

No one was wounded in the explosion that occurred at past 9 p.m. in Barangay Matibay, according to provincial police director Senior Superintendent Oscar Nantes.  

City police chief Senior Inspector Gean Gallardo said the explosion destroyed the concrete post of the gate.
