Benguet, Guam towns ink sisterhood pact
SABLAN, Benguet, Philippines – This town has forged a sisterhood agreement with the municipality of Agat in Guam in order to promote mutual understanding and goodwill.
Mayor Arthur Baldo and Agat Mayor Carol Tayama signed the agreement last week in the presence of members of the local council and delegates from Guam.
Under the agreement, the municipal governments will exchange knowledge and resources in the development of trade, tourism, culture and arts, sports and environmental protection measures.
Baldo said the agreement would also benefit Sablan in terms of employment and education exchange programs.
Guam delegates turned over several boxes of clothes, toys and other items for the residents of Sablan.
