108 farmers receive land titles

MANILA, Philippines - At least 108 farmers received land titles at a recent ceremony conducted by the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) for the distribution of 214 hectares of property in Tagbina, Surigao del Sur.

DAR regional director Julita Ragandang said the agency would help the farmer-beneficiaries make their lands productive.

Gov. Johnny Pimentel, who led the ceremony in Barangay Quezon, said the distribution of land titles is proof that the government is doing its job under the agrarian reform program.

Tagbina Mayor Generoso Naraiso said the distribution was held in time for the first observance of the village’s day or “Araw ng Barangay Quezon.”

Naraiso said the farmers were happy to have lands they can call their own.
