La Union city bags good governance award
SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union, Philippines – This city has been awarded the 2015 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) by the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
City Mayor Pablo Ortega received the award from Lily Ann Colisao, local government operations officer, on Tuesday.
SGLG is awarded to provincial, city and municipal governments in recognition of its performance in disaster preparedness, social protection, business-friendliness, competitiveness, peace and order and environmental management.
Provinces and municipalities given the SGLG award will receive P7 million and P3 million worth of projects, respectively, aside from a P5 million Performance Challenge Fund.
Agoo, Bauang, Bangar, Santol, Sudipen, Rosario and San Gabriel towns in La Union were former recipients of the award.
