SAN MANUEL, Pangasinan, Philippines – The San Roque Dam here will continue to release water collected from rains dumped by Typhoon Ineng until its elevation returns to normal or 280 meters, a hydrologist of the National Power Corp. based here said yesterday.
Virgilio Garcia said the dam’s water level is 284 meters as of yesterday morning.
Before Ineng came, the water level at the dam was between 274 and 275 meters.
Garcia said the release of water from the upstream Ambuklao and Binga dams prompted them to open two of San Roque Dam’s six gates.
He said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration will monitor the water level of San Roque Dam.
