Ed Amoroso - The Philippine Star

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – A farm owner and his four workers, including a woman, were found dead with gunshot wounds at their farm in Amadeo, Cavite yesterday morning.

Two others, a man and a woman, were found wounded and were rushed to the Ospital ng Tagaytay for treatment.

Authorities assigned police officers to watch over the survivors, whose names were withheld for security reasons.

One of the fatalities was identified through his driver’s license as farm owner Vince Garcia, 35, according to Cavite police director Senior Superintendent Eliseo Cruz.

Amadeo Vice Mayor Elpidio Bawalan called up authorities at past 7 a.m. yesterday to inform them about the incident, which occurred at a remote game fowl farm in Barangay Halang.

Residents told investigators they heard gunshots the night before the victims were found.

Investigators recovered several bullet shells at the crime scene.

Cruz said they would wait for the results of the investigation and the testimony of the survivors before giving a statement to the public.

Police have yet to identify the suspects and determine the motive for the killing.
