Magnitude 4.2 quake jolts Leyte

MANILA, Philippines - A magnitude 4.2 earthquake jolted parts of Leyte Thursday night, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said yesterday. 

Phivolcs said the quake occurred some six kilometers southeast of Kananga, Leyte at 10:19 p.m. 

The quake was felt at Intensity 4 in the towns of Kananga and Matag-ob and Ormoc City, Intensity 3 in the towns of Leyte, Jaro, Albuera, Carigara and Tunga, and Intensity 2 in Tacloban City, Alangalang and Palo.

 Phivolcs said it was not expecting any damage or aftershocks from the quake.
