Boracay Water to reduce rates
MANILA, Philippines - The Boracay Island Water Co. Inc., a unit of the Manila Water Co., will reduce water rates starting Sept. 1.
Manila Water said the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) regulatory office approved the new water rates that would be implemented next month.
Boracay Water general manager Joseph Michael Santos said rates would be lowered by 8.15 percent.
Residential consumers using 10 cubic meters of water per month would pay P248.22 from P270.26 while commercial rates will be down from P675.65 to P620.54.
